At last, after all the planning, discussions, coffee and cake, on 3rd June, Phill and Cara became Mr & Mrs Healy at Leeds Town Hall. I've enjoyed getting to know this lovely couple so much, and I know how much each of them was looking forward to just being married, so it was an absolute pleasure to be there to photograph their ceremony.

Andy & Esther's Wedding
Mr and Mrs Bell have been married for 3 whole weeks now, and I hope they've enjoyed the beginning of their married life as much as all their guests enjoyed sharing their big day.
It was an honour and a delight to be asked to shoot their wedding, as Andy and I go back to University days together. We have survived many a drunken night with varying degrees of memorability, but for me our crowning glory was the rainy midnight theft of one of the famous series of Wonderbra adverts from the huge billboard opposite our halls of residence, only to re-post it on the wall of our top floor kitchen where the drivers on the ring-road would still have been able to see it. Don't ask me why. We were probably bored of stealing run-of-the-mill things like road signs and traffic cones like students always used to. If I remember rightly, we ceased collecting stuff after that. To be honest, where can you go once you've done that? It was the best.
So, I found myself at the beautiful St Mark's Church in Tunbridge Wells on the 7th May, on a fresh and sunny Spring morning, and after a traditional service the celebration moved off to the grandeur of the 4 star Spa Hotel for an afternoon of drinking, eating and lots of laughter and eventually some ridiculous dancing.
Now that's a proper wedding! Congratulations, my lovelies! Here's a pictorial outline of the day.

Pre-Wedding shoot for Cara and Phill
Cara and Phill will get married at Leeds Town Hall in June, and I'll be there to shoot it for them. I'm really enjoying getting to know them, which has so far involved us nattering away as if we've known each other for years, laughing quite a lot, drinking at cafes and plotting the photos to the last second. Yesterday morning we went for a walk around Kirkstall Abbey to see how they are in front of the camera. They're naturals. I can't wait for their big day.
Karen & John's Wedding
March kicked off with the long awaited wedding of Karen and John at Wakefield Town Hall. After the ceremony, the grey clouds parted at just the right moment and left us with a beautiful spring afternoon to shoot the fantastic vintage bus and the guests settling themselves in for a great reception at Salute in Rothwell.
Here's a few shots.

February made me shiver...
Just in case my lack of blogging on here leads anyone to believe that I'm not actually doing anything, I thought I'd write a little about what photographers do in the slow months.
I've been setting up marketing and advertising, booking myself into wedding fairs, and checking out new album suppliers, meeting prospective couples and making preliminary arrangements, getting together with my next bride and checking out the venues for light and locations, and planning the shots for a full day, 2 photographer extravaganza to the smallest detail.
However, as it's not the busiest time for shooting jobs, I've also managed to have a couple of weeks visiting my lovely family, and had the chance to meet up with some other photographer friends to go for inspiring walks with the camera trying out different challenges and techniques.
See? Plenty to be going on with!
